Compared to Traditional Highlights
Traditional highlights are applied close to the root, which means visible regrowth shows up fast, often within three to four weeks. Lived-in color is placed and blended in a way that grows out softly, so there's no harsh line demanding an immediate fix. That's the entire point of the technique.
What "Low Maintenance" Actually Means
Low maintenance doesn't mean zero maintenance. It means longer stretches between appointments and a softer transition when you do come in. Most guests go 8 weeks to 6 months between refresh lightening visits, compared to the 4 to 6 weeks typical of traditional highlights.
What You Still Need to Do at Home
A good sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner, a purple or blue toning shampoo used weekly, and some kind of heat protectant if you're regularly styling with hot tools. That's really it. None of this is complicated or time-consuming, it's just consistent.

A full custom color service is only recommended once every 6 to 12 months.
